And......Another New Artist

We are thrilled to add the amazing art of Kelly Rae Roberts to the Tapestry Fair line of handpainted needlepoint.

Kelly Rae Roberts is an internationally celebrated artist, author, and possibilitarian.  Her tender style of truth-telling and possibility-driven approach to life, work, & art has been featured in many books, and countless magazines.  Her artwork can also be found worldwide on all kinds of gift products.

These will debut at the winter T.N.N.A show in January, but in the meantime you can check out her website - KellyRaeRoberts.com.

New Artist

We are happy to announce that we have obtained licensing to adapt the art of Pat Scheurich to handpainted needlepoint.

These whimsical florals offer lots of opportunities for stitching embellishment.  The backgrounds should be especially interesting to stitch (and paint)!  The originals are mixed media with a lot of background texture, so I'm envisioning light coverage with a variety of stitches.

Pat is currently exhibiting at the Burton Barr Central Library, so if you are lucky enough to be in the Phoenix area, stop by and see the current collection.  To see more of her work you can visit her website at www.patscheurich.com.

I'm hoping to get some of these finished and ready to ship to the shops during the summer - just can't decide which do to first.....so please let us know your favorites.

"Almost" Custom Pre-Finished Pillows

Before I pack them for display at market, here are a few examples of the pre-finished pillows from Pillow Garden that we are now distributing.

They are available in a selection of different fabrics, colorways and trims, with a variety of frame sizes for your canvas.  Top stitching the canvas in place and adding the inner pillow of your choice (polyfil or down) is all that's required to achieve a custom designer look.  If you don't sew, there is a double sided permanent fabric tape on the market that will work.

Great for gifts when you miss the dreaded "finishing deadline"!

A Lot of Ribbon!

It's finally time to get back to blogging again after taking a rather long break to close a retail shop, reorganize everything (well, almost everything), and paint a lot of new canvases for the upcoming TNNA winter show.

I did find time to stitch a little, and managed to finish this piece - P2 - The Hen - a licensed design by New Mexico artist Peggy O'Leary.

The hen is stitched entirely in different colors and widths of silk ribbon from Treenway Silks and The Threadgatherer, with the addition of Barbara Elmore's Sparkles and a few beads.  All this random stitching was a new experience for me, but went rather quickly once I got the hang of it.

The framed piece will be displayed at market, with a stitch  and fiber guide to follow.
